In 2013, God called Pastor Andrew and Danielle Garvin to plant a church in Paris, IL. There was a calling and a vision, but no building, no money, and no congregation. As they sought God in prayer, doors began to open. They were unanimously approved by the board to begin a work, and soon began to work to make it a reality. They chose a closed down building that once held the Church of Christ Scientist group in Paris. This building, though old, was a very pretty facility. CrossPoint is striving to become a 21st Century Apostolic Pentecostal Church. We are founded upon the belief that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ, and to serve people by creating a place of worship where the power and presence of God Almighty is manifest in every service. Our desire is to teach, train, and invest in people who want a deeper walk with God. We believe in vibrant worship without reservation or inhibition. We love visitors at CrossPoint. Our congregation is made up, mostly, of people who were visitors themselves not all that long ago. When you show up to visit us, you can expect people who want you there. We are thankful to have new people worshipping with us, and will let you know with a handshake and a smile. You can expect singing and music, as we worship our Savior. Some ask why we worship the way that we do. Here are the reasons: we pray together out loud because in the Bible we read "they lifted up their voice to God with one accord." Acts 4:24.
